Saguisag: It's like 1986 again

MANILA - Through her death, former President Corazon Aquino has reunited the Filipino people once again, the late president's former spokesperson said Saturday.

"I think today, the Fillipino nation is again united the way it was in 1986. Ninety-nine percent are very admiring, sympathetic and grateful for what she and Ninoy have done for us," human rights lawyer Rene Saguisag, Mrs. Aquino's former presidential spokesman and legal adviser, told radio dzMM in an interview.

Saguisag said he had mixed feelings of pain and relief when he learned about Mrs. Aquino's death.

“Of course it’s painful, but at the same time, relieved that she is now beyond all pain,” he said.

He said the last time he saw the former president was in early 2008 when he was recuperating from the injuries from a car accident that killed his wife.

"Mahigit isang oras na consoling me, comforting me. That was early 2008," Saguisag said.

He remembers Mrs. Aquino as how she is perceived by all Filipinos--a true symbol of democracy. He said Mrs. Aquino did not only restore democracy in the country, she practiced it during her administration from 1986 until 1992.

Saguisag was one of the many opposition figures who convinced Mrs. Aquino to run for president against Marcos. He served as Mrs. Aquino's campaign spokesman and was eventually appointed presidential spokesman and legal adviser.

He said it was also Mrs. Aquino who convinced him, through his late wife, to run for senator in 1987.

"Ayaw ko rin namang pasukan iyon, pinatawag ang asawa ko. They had a very tearful session in the guest house," Saguisag said.

Saguisag said that from 1987 to 1992, Mrs. Aquino practiced what she preached.

sorry guys i wasn't able to update you about Ms ELoisa the cancer patient who is pregnant. actually the schedule was JAn 10, 2008 she will have the C-session,... and yesterday i texted her husband if the C-session is successful, however he didnt replied.
just this afternoon, i gave a ring to her husbands cell number, at first his voice is chocking and i can feel that hes not that okay... so in introduce my self to him, and he said oh yes mam, then i asked him if hows Ms. Eloisa now, did she give birth already? how the operation? he just said, actually not yet, her doctor moved it tomorrow.. and i have many questions in mind that i want to ask,. but he seems dont want to give a detail about it. and i understand him.
please help me praying for Ms. Eloisa to be safe, and the baby. that she will not die after giving birth, that she will live longer for her family.

Eloisa MMK (Maalaala Mo Kaya) New Updates

just this after i called up her husband (Eloisa) because the last time i talked to him he said that its either DEcember 27,2008 she will give birth.

but yesterday her husband told me that the doctor did not allow or the doctor said that she cant give birth still, coz the baby is very small but the good news is the baby is ok and healthy. she might give birth on January 7-10,2009 thats the new schedule.

and i asked him if how is Ms. Eloisa.? he said that she kinda ok, still the doctor cant treat her because of the baby... i said to myself that thanks God that she and the baby are okay.. maybe our prayers are answered...

pls continue pray for them peeps... we know how hard it is if were in her shoes, we dont forget to thank God that were healthy and were so blessed.

MMK (Maalaala Mo Kaya) Updates

many readers are posting comments on my post MMK (Maalaala Mo Kaya) episode "SANGGOL"..

most of them are asking the real situation of Mrs Eloisa right now, since she is expected to give birth by December 7 2008. by the way for those who do not know yet Eloisa is a cancer patient and she is pregnant. ..

for those people who are very concerns of and wants to know her situation right now.. this afternoon i called up her husband, and i asked him how is ELoisa now, he said, shes kinda okay, her OB said she cant give birth yet because the baby is very small, they extend it to December 27 2008 to January 7 2008. and also is suffering the pain during the time na mag popo siya.

remember my post about the story of MMK (Maalaala Mo Kaya?) iam posting her story here because thats my way of helping her since i dont have cash to donate or help her out, this is my way of helping her and iam so glad that a lot of people and bloggers posting their comments that they wanted to help her for those who still dont know how to contact her i will paste one of the comments and she put all the details about Eloisa and how to reach her.

Hi! I was just looking for Eloisa's full name to include her in our prayers. I searched it at google and found this blog. Im currently in the US and one of my friends know her way back in high school. She said, Eloisa has been telling them that she has cancer but she seemed perfectly fine then, so nobody really payed much attention. So for Jaewon's question if the eldest son caused the cancer - definitely a no. She was diagnosed way before and was cured. But sometimes, cancer cells become active again, and like in her case, she was not able to treat it right away, it spread out affecting vital parts of her body. Well anyways, I sent some help for her thru my brother-in-law and was handed to Eloisa's husband. My brother-in-law was able to speak with Eloisa personally thru phone and she said that the operation scheduled on Dec 7th might be posponed. She's not eating so the baby has not enough nourishment to survive after birth. So she has a dextrose that I think is inserted in her neck (used to be in the arm, but vein is so weak and gets loose) to supply nourishment for the baby. According to my friend, she was at the hospital last week- Wed, and she was fine. But the following day, she was intubated and for some reason, the doctors found out there's something wrong with her lungs now. Let's continue to be in prayers for her. Her full name is Eloisa Salisi and let me know if you need her contact number. We're not friends in any way, but Im doing this hopefully to help her a little bit more. as ived check my blog this afternoon, i was so happy and amazed that there are 8 comments on my post just last night about MMK or MAalaala Mo Kaya.. a story of a pregnant and she has cancer. they iam so thankful that in a simple way i was able to help Eloisa by posting her story here. and many people who has soft hearted and they wanted to help Eloisa.. and they're asking me how to contact her or how to make donations because the number they gave is not in service accordiing to the other commnentor.pls try to help me on how or where if somebody wants to donate or help her out.. and pls try this link also

ive just watched the MMK tonight, i really cried, i admired her (Eloisa) the woman who is married with one kid, and she knew that she has a cancer already.. at first she treated herself by her own, she did not inform or tell her husband nor her parents about her cancer,she carried the pain by her own at first. and as time goes by her husband noticed that Eloisa dont have any savings in the bank, and he is thinking bad with his wife, and that was the time that Eloisa told him about her cancer. and to add Eloisa is the one who providing for her own family, her mom and dad and her younger brother.

as time goes by they've noticed that she is carrying another angel with her tummy. and the doctor said that its not safe or good for her to get pregnant because of her cancer. but still Eloisa insist to continue her pregnancy, she took risk for the life of her baby. she is really a brave woman, a mother and wife.. she is willing to die and save her baby.. isnt it admiring? a girl power!!!!! a real love from a mom to her baby.. i myself can feel the pain inside of her and the love she gave towards her family..

i really wanted to help her, but financially iam drained also.. all i can do to help Eloisa and to save her baby, is to post this and accept donors from you readers.. just put a comments that you want to help even a little amount. or simply log on to pls am waiting for your response guys.. thank you so much for all your help!
